Mark Good, Sr. R.Ph.

Chairman

Mark, a pharmacist, and his wife, a nurse, have been married for 37 years. They have two grown children and two grandchildren.

Mark has helped coordinate numerous prostate cancer awareness events across Iowa with a dedicated, hard-working group of volunteers. With 1 in 8 Iowa men having prostate cancer, Mark feels there is a great need to help our fellow Iowans right here at home.

Mark was the 3rd brother in his family diagnosed with prostate cancer in November 2013. He is passionate about raising awareness for prostate cancer and helping other Iowans who have been affected by this disease.

André Allen

Entrepreneur, Success Coach & Keynote Speaker
André Allen is a 4-time Conference Champion, 3-time All American, and 2-time Missouri Valley Football (aka Gateway Conference) Conference Defensive Player Of the Year.

As a professional football player turned businessman, and an entrepreneur turned Life Coach and Mentor, he speaks on rising as a CHAMPION during Crossroads Moments.

André is honored to come from the dust roads of Itta Bena, Mississippi to local communities, the eastern United States, and international organizations, and now, to your hearing ears.

André Allen will bring electrifying conversations, experiences, outcomes and actions to help you overcome the challenges of being at the Crossroads of Life!

Jeff Taylor

Treasurer

Jeff moved to Des Moines from Wichita, Kansas in 1988 and has lived in the area since that time. He is a graduate of Wichita State University. After a forty-year career as a small business owner and employment in a variety of sales and sales management positions in varied industries he retired in 2019.

Jeff is a Prostate Cancer survivor of 25 years after being diagnosed in January 2001. His father was also a survivor of prostate cancer, unfortunately, his grandfather was not and passed away from the disease in 1957 at the age of 57. Awareness, diagnosis, and treatment has advanced enormously since his grandfather’s time and Jeff is pleased and proud to be involved in Prostate Cancer Awareness of Central Iowa and do his part to help other families and men in central Iowa and across the state.

Jeff and his wife Mary, who is a nurse, live in Polk City, Iowa. They have four children, twelve grandchildren, and they enjoy spending time with family, traveling, playing golf and spending time in Mexico.

Brian Gallagher M.D.

Board Member

Dr. Gallagher was born and raised in Iowa and is proud to call Central Iowa home. He is excited for the opportunity to provide compassionate, high-quality urological care to the patients of the community.

Dr. Gallagher received his medical degree and residency training from the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa in 2003 and 2009, respectively. Dr. Gallagher has practiced in Des Moines since 2009. He is board certified in urology.

Dr. Gallagher is a husband and father to three great children. The majority of his time outside of work is spent supporting his kids as they participate in the things they love and fostering their growth and development.

Jennifer Schwartz

Board Member

Jennifer has been a Central Iowan since 2003. As an Actuary and FCAS member working for Farm Bureau Financial Services, her goals include helping people manage risk to protect livelihoods and futures.

Cancer has had a big impact on her family with having lost an uncle and cousin to Prostrate Cancer. She is excited to be a part of this organization and is passionate about helping fellow Iowans.

Dan Streit

Board Member

Dan Streit is a prostate survivor, since 2013 . Dan lives in Ft Dodge and retired five years ago, after working in the banking and financial service industry for 42 years. He has been married for 47 years and they have a daughter and 3 grandchildren.

Dan is look forward to helping other Iowans with their prostate cancer journey.

Tracey Casey

Board Member

Tracey lives in Altoona and works for the State of Iowa. Tracey lost her husband to prostate cancer and understands the impact this horrible disease has on a family. Tracey has a passion for helping others and is excited to be a Team Blue Iowa board member.

Steve Thilges

Board Member

Steve is a recent prostate cancer survivor having just been diagnosed in December, 2025. His voice as a survivor is especially meaningful as we continue encouraging men to get their PSA checked, find prostate cancer early, and support those who are newly diagnosed.

His experience is still very fresh, and his story will help us connect with men who are facing that same uncertainty and fear that comes with hearing the words, “You have prostate cancer.”

Steve retired in 2024 from the Principal Financial Group where he spent 39 years working in various roles.
He and his wife, Kim, live in Urbandale.

Steve looks forward to promoting awareness for prostate cancer.

Kait Miller

Board Member

Kait was raised in Urbandale and has called the Des Moines area home for most of her life. She attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate degree and later earned her MBA from Drake University. Today, she leads a marketing team for a financial services company in Des Moines.

Kait and her husband, Steven, have been married for nearly 14 years and have two young children. In her spare time, she enjoys family time, house projects, traveling, and just about anything outdoors—including hiking and cycling.

Kait’s connection to prostate cancer is personal. Her dad was diagnosed in 2022 after other members of his family had also faced the disease, and today he is living and thriving as a survivor. Supporting him through his journey strengthened Kait’s passion for early screening and detection and inspired her to use her time and talents to support Team Blue Iowa and families impacted by prostate cancer.
