Samantha Mesa's Deeply Personal Experience with Prostate Cancer.
October 2025
Samantha Mesa, Anchor and Reporter at WHO-TV shares her deeply personal connection to the prostate cancer awareness movement, stemming from her father's courageous, yet ultimately fatal, battle with the disease. After her father's diagnosis with Stage Four Inoperable Prostate Cancer, Samantha become a dedicated family caregiver, witnessing firsthand the traumatic and devastating impact of aggressive treatment that, sadly, did not save his life. Her experience instilled in her a profound passion to remind others of the importance of talking about their health. Samantha's story is a vital reminder of the emotional toll prostate cancer takes on entire families and the critical, life-saving importance of early detection—a mission she now champions alongside Team Blue Iowa to ensure other families have a different tomorrow.
